Apple iPad mini Tablet: Beautiful and Portable iPad

Apple Inc has developed and marketed a new mini tablet computer named iPad mini and the arrival of this product into market was announced on October 23, 2012. It has a screen size of 7.9 inches and it is the first tablet to have such a small screen, as against the conventional 9.7 inch screen of most of the tablets. Its specifications are similar to the iPad 2 and its high resolution display is also similar to that of iPad 2.

It is powered by an in-built rechargeable Li-Po battery with power 16.3 W-h and a battery standby life of 10 hours. Its storage is 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB flash memory, which ensures outstanding performance of the tablet. Its backlit multi-touch display with IPS technology and a 1024×768 pixel and 163 PPI ensures very high definition and good quality pictures. It also has a front facing and rear-facing camera which is capable of taking high resolution pictures. This feature is one of the most important features of almost all devices in the world today, but the clarity of the photos taken with the camera is also very important. iPad mini guarantees excellent quality pictures.

The 7.9×5.3×0.28 inch dimension and 308 g weight of the device ensures that the iPad is easy to handle and easily portable. As the dimensions of any device get decreased, it’s easier to use it more freely and the same is true in the case of iPad mini tablet also.

The software used in apple iPad mini is iOS 6.0.1 which acts as a hotspot with some carriers. It can be connected with internet using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection or even USB connection. It also allows the iPad to download applications from iTunes Store. It was developed with Xcode and iOS SDK, which was published through the apple.

There are several pre-installed applications with this iPad and they include Siri, Safari, Mail, Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, Notes, Calendar, Games and Contacts. Even though the design of this tablet is not suited for making telephone calls over cellular networks, this facility is also available with the system, using headset or built in speaker and microphone and make phone calls over Wi-Fi with the help of VoIP application.

There is also iBooks application in this system, which displays the books and other ePub-format content which can be downloaded from the iBookstore. Several books from different bookstores like Penguin Books, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster and Macmillan are publishing their books especially for iPad mini. Even though iPad mini is a competitor for both Amazon kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook, they both offer e-reader apps for this iPad.

The hardware specifications of this iPad is the same as that of iPad 2 and the Smart Cover which was started with the iPad 2 is the best screen protector which attaches to the iPad magnetically and protects the iPad. Since it is the smaller version of iPad, it’s named as iPad mini.

The screen resolution of the iPad is also very high and it ensures a very high quality videos and pictures taken with the iPad. The high resolution camera coupled with a high definition screen allows the system to display beautiful and high quality pictures and videos. Movies and photo albums can also be viewed on this screen, which makes this tablet even more useful. The multi-touch screen input enables to input the signals which are processed at a very high speed and produces the desired output quickly. Thus the screen acts as both an input as well as output device.

Thus, iPad mini is the best and most portable tablet available in the market today.
